The records document Consumers' Research's testing, research, and projects concerning automobile tires and related products. Included are correspondence, notes, magazine and newspaper clippings, advertisements, product labels, purchase orders and tire cord fragments from early tests. Subjects include rubber tire testing, tires and mileage, tire repair, tire standards and specifications, statistics, tires and car safety, tire defects, tire projects, belted and bias tires, extra-low pressure tires, radial-ply tires, reconditioning and retreading, snow tires, tubeless tires, tire pressure guages, tire pumps, tire chains, tire jacks, and inner tubes. Also included is correspondence (1935) to striking employees requesting the return of the tires they are testing on their personal cars.
